Has anyone tried using this product against pests such as aphids?

I am told that it is supposed to be the latest organic wonder-product, so I bought a litre of the stuff from the village nurseryman. Sadly, despite using it on a weekly basis, it has so far failed to do any good whatsoever. My roses now smell awful, so maybe it's just supposed to act as a deterrent, but the greenfly don't seem to be the least bit deterred.

To be honest, the best way I've found to deal with aphids (other than using the type of chemical spray I try to avoid) is to give them a really powerful hose-down while watering the garden. It is so easy (and cheap) - and it works!

Hi Alec,

Welcome to the forum Smiley

No I have never used that oil before or infact never heard of it! I used an all in-one insecticide spray from the garden centre, but I didn't like the results of that, it made my roses blotchy and discoloured. Thankfully now my garden is full of Ladybirds, which are busy eating the aphids! Hopefully they will stick about for the summer and keep my garden aphid free Wink

Hola Alec

Welcome to our little gardening home Smiley

I have heard of Neem Oil but never used it, I tend to hose my aphids down with a jet! I do also look for ladybirds in the garden and transport them to my roses because the ladybirds love to eat the aphids.

I tend to cut my flowers off and have them in a vase when they come through and then I cut the roses down hard to stop disease and to get them damn aphids Smiley

If you find anything else that is easier to use, let us know!
