My favourite bird is the Orphean Warbler, which is very common around here (near Algarrobo). It's small, and looks a bit like a blackcap, but the cap extends down over the eye which has a little white ring around it. They are quite tame, and every time I water the garden they wait for the spray and then fly into it for a shower and drink!

Incidentally, I wonder why so few people have a bird bath in their gardens in Spain? The birds must get really thirsty.

How fantastic! It must be very pleasing for you to see them enjoying themselves in the water spray from your hose, its not often you see the birds so close up. Do you have any photos of them?

No you don't seem to see bird baths in peoples gardens, not sure why? But I have seen them in various garden centres. Fortunately I have a huge pond in my garden, which attracts the birds and I have seen them drinking from it, but never seen them bathing.

I also have a bird-house my husband made for me so I can put food out for them, anything to help Smiley

Oh wow, I would soooooo love that!

I see loads flying above our heads like Hawks, Eagles and Owls but the only thing I get close to in the way of birds is dead ones on my terrace, that have fallen from their nest! Nice Wink

I keep getting more glimpses of the Owl but he still will not come close enough for me to get a decent picture
