This snake was under my table on the front terrace, trying to hide under the fallen leaves of my bourgainvilla. My dog was trying her hardest to get under the table and retrieve it, but the snake was hissing at her and she backed off. I got a fairly good photo of it and after searching on the internet I think it could be a Yellow Ratsnake, said to be found in costal areas of South Carolina. Has anyone seen any like this before?

It would make sense I surpose as we have problems with tree rats here. Hopefully Mr snake is eating the rats!! Wink

Chuffing heck he is a biggy!

That does not look like the Horse Shoe Whip Snake that we get on our garden here, identifying them is difficult but the website I listed below looked like it could help Smiley
