Hola Suzy

I had a post office day today so I have now posted your seeds Smiley

I have yours here, I have not added a letter like you did, so instead I will post here if you need help with any of the seeds I sent you. I will have a read through your letter and get planting!

Thanks for being the first to swap Smiley

Hi Simone
So glad they have arrived okay.  Hope they germinate okay.  I would add that I grow the aqueligia in both full sun and semi shade here, they all do okay but I think the preference is in partial shade, eg under an almond tree, they make bigger plants.  The Nigella will grow anywhere and once established will self seed prolifically.  The garlic chives here seem to do better in a pot but if you have good soil should be okay in the ground.   I would be interested to know how you succeeded with foxgloves, as mine failed over here, they always did well in damp shade in my UK garden, so I suppose the same would apply here, although a bit trickier to find, maybe an umbrella over the soakaway area round the septic tank would help!!!

Let's hope other people will join in and start swapping, come on everyone.
Cheers
Suzy

My seeds have arrived okay, I look forward to planting and growing them.   Come on everyone, let's swap, for the price of a few cents postage it's a lot to look forward to.    Why is everyone so hesitant on this forum.    I think Simone has got rid of all the spampeople, that have been so troublesome and all credit to her.  So come on,  I joined because I want to talk to people living, gardening and cooking in Spain for advice and shared experiences.  If you are a guest then join in, Campo Girls are doing their utmost to keep us talking, so join in, please.
Cheers

Thanks for the support Suzy, spamming is a real problem on forums and it is not just us that are affected, I use various forums for various subjects and they are all complaining about spammers, since the credit crunch they seem to have gotten worse too. I removed a spam message this morning but at least they are not as bad as they were before!

I planted some garlic chives yesterday Suzy so fingers crossed they come up well, cannot wait to try them!

I did a lot of gardening this weekend, trimmed a lot back, pulled out hundreds of weeds, had a good tidy ion the garden too and a friend came to help us do strimming so at least half of the nasty weeds are now gone, we will continue with this next weekend Smiley

I hope some of your seeds have popped up and speak soon

Hi Simone

You mentioned that you would like to grow osteospermum from seed, I have just pricked out a tray-full of self-sown seedlings into modules, if you are interested.

I also have loads of seeds for the Washingtonia Robusta palm (the tall one that's not affected by the red palm beetle). I have been keeping them in damp compost in the hope that they will pre-germinate.

As for a possible meeting, how about Torre del Mar as a good place for a coffee on the seafront? Might other seedswappers also be interested? Don't suggest a date just yet, I have been a little under the weather recently and need to be sure I'm properly on the mend before venturing too far!

You mentioned about the possibility of being a Moderator. Do you really need another one? You are obviously on the forum much more frequently than I could be.

Regards,
Alec.

Hi Alec

I am up for meeting, would be good if we could get a few of us together for a coffee and a seed swap, I have a few seeds that people may want, lets see what response we get to this thread and take it from there Smiley

You were a moderator once but I removed you as you were not here that often and we had a period where we didn't hear from you at all - hope all is well Smiley
