Hola

I have started to notice orange pods on my purple passionflower lately, is this the fruit, can I eat it?

I opened one up but it appeared empty and there was no smell, I am surprised they would fruit now, it is so cold here, we have frost and water froze in an ashtray we have on the outside table, first time I have ever seen that in Spain!

Thanks

Simone

Hi mate,

I am not sure if you can eat the buds of your passionflower, I remember at my old house we had the Hardy Blue Passionflowers and they produced these buds too. When i opened one it didnt look very edible, but apparently they are! I would look into it a bit more before trying to eat any though, dont want to get ill from them! And yes its always a lot colder up here in the mountains, it was -4.5c here the other morning, with thick ice over the cars!! This is the coldest I have known it to be since we have been in the country, nearly as cold as the UK eh!!!!!
