Spains climate lends itself perfectly to cultivating and harvesting a wide range of fruit, with March and April representing the key times of the year for cultivating and managing fruit trees.

Spain’s climate is determined by its curious world location, on the south western edge of Eurasia and just thirteen kilometres from Africa at its narrowest point. Spain’s infrastructure includes an ocean on its western front and a sea to the east. It's continental land mass and high mountainous terrain means that Spain can produce a myriad of various climates and micro-climates which are one of the most varied in Europe.

Hi Gaylewaley, blackberries are ready fro harvesting roughly same time as in uk, after all they need plenty of sun to ripen them,so you will have to wait until september or so!  Bad luck for the jam and crumbles.   Hope you are ok.   Liz

Yeah the blackberries will ripen towards the end of the summer, we have one in our garden that is starting to take off, there are loads down the track and I was planning on gathering the kids together one Saturday to go and pick them Smiley

I will let you know when it is time to "go, go, go" hehehe

Brilliant, thanks ladies!
Batch 1 of my experiment with orange marmalade turned out OK. I was quite pleasantly surprised. So was Dave as he was the guinea pig who had to do the taste trial!
I think fruit picking is a great idea Simone, give me a shout when they are ready!

Sounds like a good way to spend Saturday afternoon if you ask me Cheesy
