Hi all,

This morning we found the cat had bought this baby chick onto the terrace and our dog Fudge was protecting it from the cat! We have no idea what it could be but it has very big feet and colourful markings on its head and beak. If anyone knows please let me know and also what i should do with it? At the moment i have put it in a box with a bit of mesh over the top, so the cat can“t get to it.

Any help would be grateful,

Thanks

Thanks to The Andalucia Bird Society, I have found out this bird is a young Moorhen chick. As we have a big pond in our garden it would appear that the nest is in the pond! The advise was to put it back next to the pond, which we did, and it ran off into the pond and hopefully back to its mother.

Lets just hope Mojo the cat does'nt find it again:)

Awww bless, how cute is that, look at the size of it's feet!

I hope it settles back down and survives Smiley
