Hi, was wondering if somebody can help me. I bought a coupe of basil and mint plants and after a few days Isaw they had bites on their leaves. I have no idea as to what it could be, since I have no ants or insects in my balcony. Does anybody have any idea what it could be and how I can avoid it?

Hi Pimplona,

I cannot be sure what is eating your herbs without more information. If there are any slimy trails nearby it could be slugs or snails. Look at your plants early evening to see if there is any evidence of either of those two, if so they can easily be dealt with. If not, then if it is possible for you to give us a picture of the bite holes we may be able to identify the culprit. If not, may be your neighbours are climbing down off their balconies at night and having a nibble, just kidding. Good luck with this. Gill.
