My wife and I moved to a finca in Andalucia 6 months or so ago.  we've inherited two wells (no shortage of water!) a zillion lemon and orange trees and a huge patch of chest high weeds which we've cleared and turned into a veg patch - with some success (how many courgettes can two people eat in a three month period?)

Looking forward to sharing tips and ideas with you all.  We're definitely still learning.  We had an allotment in the UK, but the growing season here is sooooo different.

All the best

We're a couple of miles from the frontier with Gibraltar, just outside La Linea de la Conception.

It's a wonderful tranquil place with the sound of the sea, the wind in the trees and all kinds of birds and insects -and not much else.

I guess that once we master the seasonal differences to the UK, we'll be up and running.

I am just up the road from you in Alcala de los Gazules!  We had our first rain last night since early May - what bliss.  Maybe things will start growing again now!

Hola and welcome to new members

Great to see you here and look forward to hearing about your gardens

I am into potting Kalanchoe at the moment and 1 pink Azalea, in place where my Geraniums were, they died in the heat Sad

However, our melons, tomatoes, strawberries and raspberries have enjoyed the relief from the heat!

I have looked up that blog and - my word! - how the latest posting from Gill brings the memories flooding back... Four Marks, Hilliers Garden Centre were all part of our haunting ground, as we lived in Liss Forest (struggling with five acres of heathland) until four years ago and had friends living all around there! My wife, Erna, started the craft shop in the Plestor in Selborne many years ago, and more recently we set up and ran Town Lane Interiors on the outskirts of Petersfield for eight years. It's good to hear that life continues as usual in East Hampshire, with Hilliers about to put out their usual Christmas gifts and so on. Keep up the good work, and we hope you find somewhere suitable to live within your budget!

Hola Alec

I am trying to get my mother in law (Gill) to use the forum but she is a little confused I think, she is doing well with the blogging and enjoys doing that but I said we need her knowledge in here so today I am going to write a idiot guide on how to use this forum and hopefully she can come to chat then Smiley

Glad you liked what she is writing and I will tell her to keep up the good work
