We lost our entire crop of tomatoes this year to a caterpillar called Tuta absoluta (I'm not making this up - honest). It appears that this critter has managed to get from South America to Spain via China and is now destroying tomatoes from Valencia downwards.
Here’s a link with more information:
http://www.tutaabsoluta.com/Basically the moth lays it's eggs on your tomato plant leaves, these hatch and eat their way into the fruit. They are extra destructive (we got 5 or 6 good tomatoes from 20 plants)
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this, or if anyone knows of any good preventative / curative measures?
Cheers
Nick
