Since we moved to the house we live in now, we have had plenty of those pesky tree rats. Living in the Campo its only to be expected, but when they are living in the kitchen ceiling its not very pleasant! They are quite cute to look at, but I don't want him living above me! Need to get my husband to block whatever hole it is getting through, then hopefully he can go back to his tree and stay there! Maybe I should make him a little tree house to live in Wink

Anyone else having rat problems?

We have a tree rat in our pineapple palm tree on the driveway, I can't believe the cheek of this one though sitting on your windowsill. Mind you, he probably thinks the house is as much his home as you do.
We also have Jake the snake in our garden, he is about a metre and a half long and the first large snake I have seen in our garden and is yet to be identified as to whether he is poisonous or not.

Take an image of the snake and stick it on here, we might be able to name him for you. It could be the poular (to this area) HorseShoe Whip Snake - we have had 2 of them in the garden now and apparently you are very lucky to see one!

We also have had one of these tree rats (maybe more than one, who knows!), living in or near our Phoenix date palms. He (or she) regularly ran across the length of our wide terrace wall, which has one of these palms at each end.

However, our cat decided that this wall is the ideal place for her to sunbathe. Result, no further sightings of it.

Moral...get a cat?

Alec.
