Hello All,
I am a new member and have found the site very interesting, albeit a little sparse in chat, except from the Campo girls.  We came here nearly 3 years ago, bringing 2 geriatric cats, who have since died, Molly 22, and Becks. 20.  We also brought our Welsh Border collie, Taffy, he is 14 and a bit doddery.  As everyone does we said, no more animals,  that's it, etc etc.   However, a sad little pedenko who was living on my son's dooorstep  and climbed into our Xtrail one day and that was it.  Taff accepted her, we called her Minnie [the Mooch] and then whoopee she produced 7 pups.  We managed to find good homes for 5 of them but have been left with Buster and Timmy.  So our ideal of life in Spain has totally changed, it's like having kids again.  I love them to bits but unfortunately pedenkos refuse to be trained, if anyone is capable of training them please contact me.  They are getting better but will never achieve collie intelligence.
Cheers

Hola

David the Dog Man is a good trainer and I have heard good reports about him, so I am happy to post a link to his website here
Dog Trainer

I have not had dogs since I was in the UK living with my parents, we prefer cats because we like to go out and soI am disturbed e and with us being out in ther sticks we have to stay over at friend's houses as we always like a tipple or two! Wink

Yeah, not many speaking and I think that is because of the spamming issue we had, people will start coming back once they realise the spam has been erradicated - at one point I was getting so depressed I was going to shut the forum altogether but decided not to let the spammers win - I needed to fight back!

I do most of the talking here and that will more than likely always be the case Wink

hi Simone,
Have looked at David´s web site and it certainly seems to provide some good tips.  I will study it in more detail.  Have had dogs all my life but podenkos don´t seem to equate with anything in my experience except perhaps beagles [who are bonkers] with a bit of terrier thrown in plus a soupcon of lurcher!!

I don´t blame you for not having dogs though, they are so tying, as we are finding out with our increased "family".  Love them all to bits though.

We also have 3 to 4 campo cats who have adopted us.   Three have come from a neighbour up the hill who gets them for his granddaughter and they only come to their finca once a week or so, so guess what, all the moggies end up at the full time feeding place here.  However, I have bribed the granddaughter with my old dolls house and furniture,  so hopefully no more kittens will be brought up here.  Fortunately they are all male.

It certainly keeps me fit walking all the dogs up the mountain in rain, hail, wind and snow and hopefully soon the broiling heat.

I am sorting pictures out, downsizing, etc. after your advice, my son, who is a bit of a computer whiz has promised to help, so hopefully will be able to post some of our adopted family.
Cheers
Suzy

I do so love dogs, that I gladly forgive my two for all the trouble they cause.
