Well done Nigella! Hopefully now she has started laying the other girls will follow suit. They were obviously older than what we thought, thats good news for you. Soon enough you wont know what to do with all the eggs!

Enjoy Wink

LOL G, I will let Nigella know - she let me pick her up today and cuddle her - ahhhh

I will check again today for anymore she might decide to lay, I am especially pleased that despite being free ranging since the day she got here she still went back to her cosy house to lay her egg - the house Mark made her is better than expected x

CONGRATULATIONS MUM!   I hope this will be the start of many more to come, read your blog and love the names you are calling the hens.   Although I suspect Nigella has more to do with Lawson than the seeds I sent, I am pleased I sent you Nigella seeds as an afterthought, she will probably enjoy eating the seedlings!!  Do keep us up to date with your chuckies, I would love to have some but we have too many foxes around here plus I don't think they would go down too well with all our dogs and cats.  We inherited 2 hens, Joan and Harriet, from some neighbours when we lived in England, but they were taken by foxes unfortunately so I was put off from having them again.

¿Have you eaten the egg yet?  Fresher than fresh are best boiled with toasty soldiers I always think.  When we were in Paxos our cleaning lady used to bring us newly laid eggs and they were delicious served that way for breakfast.

Cheers
Suzy
