Spam is even more frustrating Emma, they just do not leave you alone, if you allow them in the forums would be full of junk and it just upsets members

I think you're absolutely right, spam is a plague. why not just wait a bit before you can post links etc? we're in Spain after all!

I joined to get gardening help, which is no good if I can't post a thread!
I understand about spam but surely I can now become a member? I've waited 13 days!

Hi Emma
No problem, do you have a large garden or are you terrace gardening in pots?
What are you growing right now?

Hi, I am new to gardening & looking to learn. I have a problem with my fruit trees in southern Spain. We have lost our plum tree because of it, the trees are dischrging a gum or sap from branches. Started like this on the plum tree now on the peach tree & Apricot tree, help! Can find little advice about this problem, I have also noticed a medium sized beetle at the base of the trees which has white spots on its head, could this be part of the problem does anyone know? We have lost one Palm tree to palm beetle but been assured nothing to do with this problem? Thanks.

There's an old rule about beetles - if it's got a snout, snuff it out. That certainly works for the red palm beetle, and other weevils.

Hi Berwyn, welcome. Hope you enjoy gardening in the campo. Just a tip, dig over and compost well before any planting just as you would in the UK. If you have a local shepherd ask him for the sheep/goat sh--t, it is a marvellous manure. Cheers, Suzy
