Evergreen shrubs from S America are grown for their colourful flowers. Masses of flowerheads in a range of bright colours appear throughout the summer. All the plants are tender but can be grown in a greenhouse or conservatory - us lucky devils in Spain get to grow these outside!

They make a valuable addition to bedding schemes (what I use them for) and look decorative in tubs and pots for summer display. Lantanas are particularly attractive to butterflies.

I have 3 Lanatanas in my garden and they are all planted in borders, over rocks.

I also have Lantana growing in my garden. I have the most common one which is known as "Spanish Flag", also a pale purple and white. They do make great boarders, I have mine around the driveway area and makes good coverage. Smiley

Further to previous posts, can´t remember under what topic, I am pleased to report that 2 of my 3 Lantanas are coming back to life.  Talk about green shoots of recovery!   Thankfully I didn´t pull them out but optimistically just chopped them right back to the ground and in the last couple of weeks they have put on lots of new leaves.  Is it usual for them to die back in winter, I assumed they were "evergreen" or was it just our dreadful winter do you think?  They have a lovely crop of raddishes surrounding them!
Cheers

Simone, your pics are great, I particularly like the Bird of Paradise.  The chucks look good too!  Gordon sounds an absolute tiger.  Have been busy planting my Cosmos today, raised from seed successfully, the ground was heavenly soft to work after the past few days of rain.
