I have just noticed that all the local growers have picked their mangos during the past two days, so I suppose I should take the hint and do likewise.

Mine are well grown but still hard. However, most people say that it is best to pick them in this condition and ripen them indoors, choosing various places with different temperatures to stagger the process. According to one website, the best time to pick is when what they call a "colour break" occurs, with part of the fruit a different colour to the rest. I'm not sure exactly what this means, so I'll pick half of mine now and hedge my bet!

Does anyone else have a few trees of this delicious fruit? Have you picked yours yet?
